General Description

The State Auditor’s Office (SAO) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Analyst (Full-Stack Developer with DBA Skills) to join our team. The Senior Systems Analyst (Full-Stack Developer with DBA Skills) will be responsible for analyzing complex business problems and developing full-stack (Microsoft-centric) technical solutions to fit the SAO’s needs. The position also involves supporting and troubleshooting existing systems. Works under minimal to limited direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Develops, maintains, and enhances enterprise line-of-business applications using a number of languages and frameworks including C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Microsoft Blazor and Razor pages, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery
  • Works with users to gather and document needs requirements for new applications or modifications to existing applications. Collaborates with other staff and team members throughout the application development life cycle on design considerations, programming, and testing efforts
  • Analyzes existing business processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Produces deliverables that include software requirements, work plans and schedules, test plans, implementation plans, and system and user documentation
  • Shares technical knowledge and expertise with other staff and team members
  • Troubleshoots application problems and performance issues
  • Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical staff
  • Assists with the training of agency staff prior to the implementation of new or revised technical systems and offers advice and guidance during the implementation process
  • Performs related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualification, Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited 4-year college or university (copy of transcript required)
  • 5+ years of experience as a full-stack developer with a proven track record of successful system design and implementation in a Microsoft-centric environment
  • Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks including C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Microsoft Blazor and Razor pages, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery
  • Proficiency in system analysis methodologies and project management practices
  • Proficiency in SQL, with experience working with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, and knowledge of object-relational mappings such as Entity Framework
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RESTful API development and integration
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Understanding of Texas state government
