The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance fine-tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical systems. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the system administration for complex operating systems while providing a high level of service to our stakeholders.
Primary Duties:
� Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves complex software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs.
� Coordinates hardware/software installations and upgrades to ensure work is properly performed in accordance with company policy. Recommends resolution to complex matters of significance and coordinates the implementation of the approved course of action.
� Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning. Recommends course of action and implements as approved.
� Coordinates testing, upgrades and configuration of system files and services. Ensures changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; recommends revisions or changes based upon results. Prepares for and prescribes approaches to possible downstream implications.
� Utilizes standard corporate tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.
� Assists and coordinates with Developers and DBA on DevOps to ensure consistent, smooth, and compliant ALM operations and Change Management.
� Proactively finds ways to automate routine tasks especially those related to provisioning aspects of the various solutions
Required Skills and Qualifications
� At least 7-years of experience with installing, configuring, tuning, maintaining and monitoring
Windows Server 2012 R2 or 2016 Servers.
� Strong knowledge DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Server Monitoring, and related concepts.
� Working knowledge of Virtualization concepts specifically Hyper-V
� Strong understanding and experience with Windows Server Cluster Services (WSCS) and Load
Balancing.
� Expert -level understanding of Active Directory Users, Computers, OUs, and Groups.
� Strong understanding of NTFS permissions.
� Strong implementation knowledge with Hyper-V
� Strong implementation knowledge with P2V and V2V Migrations
� Strong implementation knowledge System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVVM) templates and concepts.
� Strong implementation knowledge System Center Operations and Configuration Manager.
� Strong implementation knowledge of PowerShell
� Strong implementation knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Cloud Concepts
� Strong implementation knowledge SANs, iSCSI, SMB, JBOD, Storage Pools, and RAID levels
� Strong implementation knowledge of Networks, PKI, IPSec, VLANs, VPN and related concepts
� Some Microsoft certification is required
Preferred Skills:
Experience with O365
Experience with Windows Azure or AWS
Some open source experience Linux, Containers, etc.
