Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team!


The Senior Systems Engineer will facilitate the definition, design, qualification, integration, and production launch of systems and subsystems utilizing Allient core building blocks of Motion, Control, Power, and Lightweighting. The Systems Engineer is a key liaison between the customer and Allient product know-how and manufacturing capabilities worldwide. Responsibilities:

• Creates system level models, design tools and simulations necessary to support trade studies and solution architectures with customers during early business development efforts.

• Leads the identification and definition of all Verification and Validation approaches for the system or subsystem.

• Leads the development of subsystem level requirements that are fully traceable to system level requirements.

• Write specifications to capture these requirements.

• Leads system or subsystem level integration and test, including any anomaly investigations.

• Create concise reports and proposal write-ups that describe the design decisions and analysis results.

• Lead the preparation of successful proposals. Contributions to include subsystem level architecture, verification and validation approaches, component level design requirements, requirements compliance assessment, cost estimates and technical write-ups.

• Manages large volume, multi-TU projects and customers.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical, Master’s degree preferred.

• 8 or more years of work experience; knowledge of gear motors, electric motors and drives a plus.

• Collaborates well in a team environment. Sensitive to client’s needs, can develop warm client relationships.

• Strong project management skills, PMP certified a plus.

• Solid computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, Simulink, etc.


Physical Demands:

• Mostly office-based may have limited exposure in the development lab.

• Will be required to operate a computer and may use some lab equipment.

• Occasionally may have to lift and/or transport items weighing between 10 and 40 pounds.


Work Environment:

• Predominately office environment with limited development lab.

• While in the lab will be required to wear PPE such as safety glasses.

• Some travel required
