Robert Half is partnering with a San Diego based technology company that is looking to hire a Senior System Engineer (AWS focused) with a strong desire to improve IT System and Networking infrastructure. As a System Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing an AWS Cloud environment which includes designing/configuring AWS cloud infrastructure (VPCs, EC2/RDS instances, Load Balancing, Security Groups, S3 storage) to support Production, Corporate, and Dev/QA environments. This position is full time with full benefits + bonus and fully onsite, 5 days per week in San Diego.

Responsibilities:

• Proficient in managing hybrid AWS cloud on prem environment and ensuring optimal performance.
• Support of on-premise computing infrastructure to AWS cloud including VMware environments and applications.
• Optimize IT Infrastructure environments into Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• IaaS cloud design, strategy, and implementation.
• Expertise with building/configuring AWS infrastructure and security.
• Expertise in managing cloud-based virtual server and desktop services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• DR, Back up experience and Firewall experience
• Flexible and willing to perform occasional Tier 2 help when support team gets stuck or is on vacation.

Qualifications and additional detail:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Snr. System engineering predominantly in hybrid cloud AWS environment.
• AWS Certifications Ie. AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Cloud Architect, or SysOps Administrator.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively stakeholders, team and leadership.
• Position salary is up to 135k+ generous bonus + full benefits.
• 100% onsite in San Diego, 5 days per week.
