Redstone Commodity Search are working with a global conglomerate looking to onboard a senior steel trader in Houston, TX. This is a key commercial role focused on developing and managing North American steel trade flows, with a strong emphasis on both domestic and international sales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead trading activities for steel products across North America.
• Manage key client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and grow market share.
• Coordinate with global supply chain teams to optimise sourcing and logistics.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing structures to ensure profitability and risk management.
• Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitor activity to inform trading strategy.

Experience & Profile:

• 7+ years of steel trading or steel sales experience, ideally across both import and domestic markets.
• Strong knowledge of North American steel consumers, mills, and service centres.
• Proven track record of executing hedging strategies using various exchanges.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to operate independently.
• Existing network and market insight in the steel sector.
