Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior SQL Server Database Administrator / Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our SQL Server database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have over a decade of experience with SQL Server, a deep understanding of database architecture and performance tuning, and a proven track record of building scalable and secure database solutions

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex SQL Server database solutions.
  • Develop and optimize physical and logical data models.
  • Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize schema design and queries.
  • Lead database modernization and migration projects, including to/from cloud platforms.
  • Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and best practices.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data (encryption, auditing, RBAC).
  • Plan capacity and storage, forecast growth, and recommend infrastructure improvements.
  • Mentor junior DBAs and developers, and lead database-related initiatives.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server (2012–2022).
  • Deep expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Strong experience with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Proficient in backup/restore strategies, Always On availability groups, replication.
  • Experience with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ETL frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD for database deployments.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer/Database Administrator Associate are a plus.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with non-relational databases (NoSQL, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Power BI or other data visualization experience.
  • Knowledge of data lake and data mesh architectures.
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
