Summary

Position Title: Senior Solution Architect

Reporting To: Principal Consultant / Client Project Manager


The Senior Solution Architect is responsible for leading the design and development of enterprise and solution architecture artifacts that align with client business needs, technology strategies, and enterprise architecture standards (including QGEA). The role demands strategic leadership, technical expertise, and close collaboration with key business and ICT stakeholders.


Note: The role requires availability during standard Australian business hours.


Key Responsibilities

Consult with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and technical SMEs to design end-to-end ICT solutions.


Develop detailed solution design documents, architecture diagrams, and roadmaps across business, application, information, technology, and security domains.


Ensure all solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, cybersecurity regulations, privacy legislation, and recordkeeping standards.


Actively participate in governance forums, including the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Digital Transformation Boards.


Conduct feasibility assessments, evaluate solution options, and prepare recommendation reports.


Contribute to procurement processes through solution evaluations and vendor assessments.


Foster strong communication and collaboration across both business and ICT teams.


Essential Qualifications and Skills

Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Solution Architect in large-scale, complex organisations.


TOGAF Certification or equivalent industry-recognised qualification (Certified Enterprise Architect Professional, Open Group Certified Architect, EACOE, etc)


Strong understanding of QGEA frameworks and Queensland Government digital standards.


Expertise in producing visual architecture models using ArchiMate, Visio, Sparx EA, or similar tools.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of an organisation.


Proven ability to mentor and support junior architects and business analysts.


Preferred Attributes

Experience working within government or highly regulated environments.


Familiarity with Agile methodologies and digital transformation programs.


Working Hours

Must be available to work during Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) business hours. Flexibility to occasionally adjust hours for meetings or project deadlines may be required
