Position Overview
We are looking for a Software Engineer to develop and maintain contribution applications. This position is for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Developer. The candidate will join an existing database development team. They design, develop, and maintain fully-fledged and functioning platforms with databases or servers.
Responsibilities
- Completing the objectives of each assignment within the agreed timeframe.
- Analyzing the new requirements and developing software solutions. Writing specification when needed. Implementing and testing cross-functional systems and ensuring system meets clients and business needs.
- Reviewing design, code, implementation and test cases, of own work, or work of colleagues, to ensure compliance to requirements and architectural specifications.
- Working with project team to make modifications to existing software applications, or to develop and integrate new applications according to specifications and industry standards.
- Working with product team and architects to assure all systems are in line with company long term strategy, using disciplined software development processes.
- Liaising with colleagues in sites overseas, and internal customers on trouble shooting, analysis and solution on maintenance / support issues.
- Researching new and emerging technologies. Evaluating and making recommendations for new tools, technologies, and platforms to be implemented.
- Conducting user training when necessary
Required Skills:
- BS or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields
- 3 - 5 years recent development experience with T-SQL including dynamic SQL using MS SQL Server 2012 or above
- A good understanding of SQL Server RDBMS and concepts (complex stored procedures, functions, indexes and optimization)
- Some SQL Server DBA knowledge will be beneficial
- Familiarity with Oracle database, PL/SQL, Python are beneficial
- Experience with deploying services to Cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure) is a plus
- Experience with CI/CD is a plus
