We are looking for Sr Software Engineer professionals that are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative high-quality software solutions, while also willing to maintain legacy technologies and can work in fast-paced environments. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication skills both verbally and written. They must also be able to guide and mentor software engineers on their team using leadership skills to achieve our goals. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products and enhance existing systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and security. What you'll do:
- Work with your squad in an Agile manner to lead domain-driven projects with risks and/or complexity that impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service objectives. This includes pairing via zoom on a regular basis for hours a day to work on more difficult or complex issues.
- Drive timely/quality delivery against business goals, while evangelizing and improving engineering excellence.
- Works independently with guidance only in complex situations.
- Has demonstrated Leadership abilities, including Teaching / Mentoring and Collaboration
- Determines process improvements and provides technical direction to others around the completion of project goals.
- Develops new concepts, methods, and techniques by staying up to date with current technologies in the field.
- When given a piece of the system, they will be able to dissect it and understand how it flows, beyond their own code, companies, and third parties' code.
- Develop and implement code that is clean, efficient, and well-documented, adhering to team standards.
- Conduct unit testing and participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality code and does testing. Eliminates manual testing as much as possible.
- Work closely with business, Product management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, QA, Architects, and Cloud Engineering team to facilitate smooth rollouts across AWS environments (development, staging, production), ensuring alignment with project goals and operational needs.
- Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automating build, test, and deployment processes to streamline releases and maintain consistency across environments.
- Has successfully managed projects including considering the success of the entire project in programming decisions.
What you should have:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of Software development experience, with a strong focus on Java/J2EE
- In lieu of bachelor's degree at least 8 years of experience
- Experience with large scale systems along with exposure to E2E design.
- Experience utilizing Agile and Scrum software development methodologies
- Proficient with test-driven development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with prioritization of duties
- Collaborative problem-solving ability and self-motivated
- Programming and design experience to execute on a project independently.
- Ability to document, track and monitor a problem/issue to a timely resolution
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using and supporting JBoss/Wildfly
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems in a cloud environment, preferably AWS. AWS certifications are also a plus.
- Strong understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL preferably.
- Experience with messaging systems like RabbitMQ.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful web services.
- Experience with API Gateways and building Lambda's and NodeJS/Next API Services.
