Summary

Job Description Description SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Application Engineer to join our Agile web application development team near Scott Air Force Base near O'Fallon, IL. This role is ideal for a senior software engineer who enjoys mentoring developers, leading technical decisions, and building scalable applications that run in an AWS Cloud environment. Our Software Engineers transform mission critical transportation applications to cloud-hosted, reliable, scalable, DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline released applications and web services supporting USTRANSCOM. Key Responsibilities: * Design, code and test highly scalable and reliable software solutions using Java technologies and frameworks, Angular, Spring, Python, C#, restful web services, microservices architecture, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XSL and XML. * Developing, testing, and debugging cloud-native applications using programming languages like Python, Java, REACT, JNode and JavaScript. * Provide mentorship, conduct code reviews, and contribute to task planning. Leading or mentoring developers in an agile environment. * Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams on system design and best practices. * Support and troubleshoot production code in support of application helpdesk. * Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments as needed (prior experience is helpful but not required). Required Experience and Skills: * Experience in database technologies and SQL queries (Oracle PL/SQL, MySql, Postgres). * Proficiency in Git-based source control and modern development workflows. * Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. * Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and secure coding principles. * Experience with development tools such as Eclipse, Toad or SQL Developer, GIT or SVN. * Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. * Experience with AWS services including S3 buckets and messaging. * Experience with Authentication and Authorization. Qualifications * U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. An active DOD Secret clearance is preferred. * Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience indicated within the responsibilities section. Masters and seven (7) years or more of experience. * CompTIA Security+. * Must be U.S. Citizen. Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
