Senior Software Engineer
BBY India is seeking Senior Software Engineers to play a key role in delivering software products for Best Buy’s Self Service for Customer Support (Repair Self Service) and Self Service for Customer Support (Repair & Auto-Tech Communications) team. You will work with Product Managers, User Experience Designers, Architects, and other team members to modernize and build products that align to the product team’s vision and strategy. The engineering of these products will leverage multi-cloud platforms, human centered design, Agile and DevOps principles to deliver industry leading solutions at high velocity with unrivaled quality. You will work on a team of talented software engineering professionals, leading by example, and mentoring others. All of this will be done by embracing inclusive behaviors, working through ambiguity, demonstrating a strong attention to detail, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Team Overview
The Self Service for Customer Support (Repair Self Service) team exists to provide customers a seamless and easy path to clear solutions by presenting the right self-service content, tools and services with a frictionless handoff to Customer Care when needed, in order to ease their anxiety and give them a sense of control while demonstrating that Best Buy is there for them no matter what. The team supports the products in the App and Web for Know Me, Guide Me - Personalized & Services Notifications, Findability, Services/Scheduling flows, In-Store Appointments, In-Home Delivery/Installations and Services Tab.
The Self Service for Customer Support (Repair & Auto-Tech Self-Service) team exits to proactively connect with customers via email, text, push notification, and online or other means that works for their unique needs to keep them updated on critical information for their contract, service experience, or service history. Proactively keeping the customer informed with the right medium drives increased satisfaction overall and enables self-service experiences for our customers when action is required. The team supports the following products in the App and Web for Triage & Routing, Repair Tracker, and Approve & Pay.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the delivery of complex solutions, coding larger features from start to finish
· Actively participate in planning, and performing code and architecture reviews of their team’s product
· Help ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices.
· Lead the triage of complex production issues across systems
· Demonstrate creativity and take initiative in solving complex problems
· As a high performer, consistently deliver a high volume of story points relative to their team
· Aware of the technology landscape, plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple applications
· Influence technical peers outside their team
· Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and Experience Design (XD)
· Create and improve internal libraries and tools
· Provide technical leadership on the product and determine technical approach
· Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager
· Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues
· Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buy’s continued success
Basic Qualifications
· 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience. Including:
§ 3+ years of development experience for android and iOS application development using React native, Swift or Kotlin including some or most of the following technologies
§ Git, Jest, Lerna, NX, yarn, Node.js, Axios, GraphQL, Xcode, Android Studio, CocoaPods, React navigation, React query, Metro, Deep linking, Push notifications
§ 3+ years of development experience using React Web and any of the following technologies:
§ React Web, GraphQL, NPM, Yarn, Babel, Webpack, Typescript, Jest, Mocha, Chai, Cypress, React Query, React Hooks, Fastify, Koa, Chrome dev tools, Charles Proxy
§ 2+ years of leading teams using agile principles with Kanban or similar iterative approach for estimating, planning, retrospective, etc.
· Expertise with micro service development that produce/consume REST APIs
· Ability to lead team development through best practices such as TDD, CI/CD, Monitoring, etc.
· Excellent communication skills, especially when working with a distributed team
· Ability to triage and manage complex, production issues
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment
· Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and frameworks
· Proficient in Kafka and Event Streaming applications (Kafka Streams)
· Experience with GraphQL and event-driven design
