Purpose of the job / project
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design of applications and integration of new services with the existing data-centric infrastructures. You will be a key actor of continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation, focusing on automating parts of the software development process, internal data flows and internal tooling. You will be part of the Technology team.
What you will do
- Develop, deliver and maintain quality software.
- Contribute to application design and integration with existing data-centric infrastructures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, automating parts of the software development process, internal data flows, and internal tooling.
- Collaborate within the agile software development team, delivering and maintaining quality software as required by the Platform.
- Actively participate in the entire software lifecycle process, including requirements gathering, user story creation, development, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipeline setup, testing, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement good software development practices, including consistent coding style, quality, and testing.
- Incorporate and promote security and privacy by design practices into your work.
- Assist in technical analysis and design of software solutions.
- Design and provide excellent issue tracking and customer support with the team.
- Write and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Offer technical expertise to external parties and represent LNDS in meetings, conferences, and gatherings with stakeholders.
- Support more junior colleagues.
- Stay up to date with evolving software technologies.
Who you are
- MSc in a scientific, technological, or engineering discipline related to computer science, information technology, or computing.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in programming, deployment, and maintenance of applications.
- Experience in research or academic settings.
Technical competencies
- Experience with Python or Java languages. Other languages are considered as a plus.
- Strong knowledge in multiple technological stacks, covering backend to frontend.
- Strong working knowledge with containerization (Docker, Podman)
- Working knowledge of authentication protocols like OIDC, SAML or LDAP/AD, and solutions like Keycloak.
- Good knowledge of SQL & noSQL technologies.
- Good knowledge of cloud ecosystems.
- Comfortable working on Linux and git environments daily.

- Creative, solution oriented with good analytical skills and a mindset for quality.
