Senior Software Engineer

X4 Engineering are excited to announce a deepening partnership with a global financial services institution that is actively transforming the finance industry.

This organization is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join their front-office technology team, which collaborates closely with the Commodities & Global Markets division to drive strategic business goals.

In this role, you will develop high-quality technology solutions that support key applications within the Commodities & Global Markets trading group. You’ll be responsible for translating business requirements into effective system solutions, managing project delivery, and implementing best practices in software engineering.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
• Prior experience working within a Front Office environment on financial products with an understanding of risk.
• At least 5 years' of professional experience in Python development.
• Familiarity with C++ and other programming languages such as Rust / Golang (desirable).
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using Python libraries - Pandas/NumPy etc.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL / NoSQL databases.
• AWS proficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong communication skills.

The role is hybrid with at least 3 days’ per week in the Houston office.
