Role Description

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Android) to join our team and lead the development of the Android system for our custom 3D hardware. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating a seamless and immersive user experience by building the Android platform from the ground up. Key focus areas include designing the system architecture, enabling efficient streaming and transferring of video/photos from our desktop app to the Android hardware, and crafting an intuitive app UI for navigation, media playback, and display. This is a full-time, on-site role with remote flexibility, offering the chance to shape a groundbreaking product in the 3D entertainment space.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer (Android), you will:

• Design and implement the Android system architecture tailored to our custom 3D hardware, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Develop efficient protocols for streaming and transferring video and photo content from our desktop app to the Android device, prioritizing speed, quality, and stability.
• Create an intuitive app UI for navigation, media playback, and display, delivering a user-friendly and visually engaging experience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring the Android system meets our high standards for quality and performance.
• Contribute to innovation, exploring additional features and optimizations to enhance the 3D entertainment experience.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced engineer who thrives on technical challenges. Here’s what we expect:

• Android Expertise: 5+ years of experience in Android development, with a strong focus on system-level programming and multimedia applications.
• Multimedia & Streaming: Deep knowledge of Android multimedia frameworks (e.g., MediaCodec, ExoPlayer), codecs, and streaming technologies (e.g., HLS, DASH).
• Networking Skills: Proficiency in networking protocols and data transfer mechanisms (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, WebSockets) for efficient content delivery.
• UI/UX implementation: Proven ability to implement responsive, user-friendly Android UIs, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
• Hardware Integration: Experience working with hardware integration, embedded systems, or collaborating with hardware teams to ensure software-hardware compatibility.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting skills, with a history of delivering high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3D graphics, VR/AR technologies, or computer vision.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, JS, and Python programming languages.
