Purpose of the role

As our growth journey progresses, we’re pleased to offer a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Senior Software Developer to join our team, playing a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of our organisation’s website.
Bringing strong technical expertise and a collaborative approach, the Senior Developer will be responsible for implementing new features, optimising performance, and ensuring the website’s stability and security as we continue to grow.

What will your key responsibilities include?
- Developing and maintaining high-quality web applications and features.
- Collaborating with designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices.
- Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.
- Troubleshooting and debugging issues across various browsers and devices.
- Optimizing website performance and ensuring scalability.
- Staying current with emerging web technologies and industry trends.
- Implementing and maintaining web security best practices.
- Participating in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
- Mentoring junior developers and assisting in their professional growth.
What are we looking for?
- Tertiary qualifications in an Information Technology discipline (preferred) and 5+ years’ relevant experience in a development role.
- Experience in a similar role in the banking/financial services sector (preferred) or a medium/large sized organisation.
- Demonstrated capabilities in:
- Developing for small projects, code releases, and vendor relationships.
- Website front end development (ReactJS, SASS/CSS), ASP.NET web development (C# preferred), API development (REST/SOAP, XML/JSON, WCF), CMS experience (Optimizely CMS preferred), agile project management methodology (Scrum / KANBAN).
- Delivering and working in “new ways of working” including concepts such as Agile, CICD, DevOps, process automation, etc.
- Technical, application and system documentation.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to both technical and wider business stakeholders/audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong competencies in time management and multi-tasking; able to deliver against competing priorities under tight timeframes.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, able to interpret high-level requirements and develop solutions with minimal supervision.
- An appreciation of IT Risk management processes and controls and an understanding of IT change management best practice.
