The Japan Marketplace Candidates team creates experiences that help job seekers and employers connect effectively across the Japan market. We focus on guided employer actions, personalized workflows, and flexible candidate tools to improve hiring outcomes and user experience.

We collaborate with global teams to implement Japan-specific features while aligning with global standards and avoiding duplication.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

As a contractor Software Engineer on our 10-member cross-functional team, you'll work on high-impact projects, designing and developing features across our full stack (React, Java/Kotlin, GraphQL, AWS).

You’ll help advance backend architecture, collaborate with global teams to deliver Japan-specific features, and ensure data-driven decision-making through accurate analytics.

You’ll also lead by example in coding, reviews, and reliability practices, while mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative, learning-focused culture.

• Proven experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional projects
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin, and TypeScript
• Strong background in scalable, distributed microservices

• Comfortable with rapid iteration and continuous delivery
