The Senior Software Developer will develop and maintain software related to the Healthcare industry, including Cost Accounting, A/R Valuation, Web-based UI.
Duties And Responsibilities
Create and maintain the UI (user interface) to allow users to access patient information
Create and maintain a UI to give users access to Med-Metrix products, such as Cost Accounting and Pricer
Understand and enhance software which employs UCM's (unit cost multipliers) to produce Charge-level cost accounting
Create and maintain Product Line programs, custom built as per client specifications
Security: Update jQuery components as per quarterly penetration testing
Understand and enhance software which computes prices (the Pricer) for various hospital services, based on the insurance payer
Tasks are given either from direct supervisor, or other MMX employs whose jobs require use the Halcyon products
Responsible for relating and instructing the programming staff and technical assistants
Assist in running jobs, either for loading data or producing calculations, when called upon
Assist in maintaining Halcyon Oracle client DB’s, including table updates and changes to schemas
Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
Qualifications
Degree or equivalency in computer science required
Must have proficiency in programming languages Visual Basic, VB Script, C#, and C++
Knowledge and fluency in SQL database language, manipulation, and concepts
Experience in creating and maintaining Windows services
At least 5 years of experience in the programming field
Knowledge of, and experience with, Cost Accounting logic which also includes G/L (general ledger) factors, and eight phases of processing
Must be able to understand and execute tasks with a minimal of formal instruction
Have a "can do " attitude with ability to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends as needed
Enjoys a large degree of both autonomy and responsibility
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and documentation skills to ensure clarity of communication
Prioritize and structure own workload based on delivery requirements
A fast learner with the ability to understand, retain, and apply new information quickly
Ability to follow through on projects and tasks to completion under minimal supervision
Working Conditions
Ability to work on weekends and/or off-hours, as needed, is required
Travel or work outside of regular hours requirements
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area; Sit; perform manual tasks; operate tools and other office equipment such as computer, computer peripherals and telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear.
