About This Role

As a Senior Software Developer, your primary responsibility will be responsible for writing good, clean code. You’ll also collaborate with fellow senior developers to define and uphold best practices, while mentoring junior and intermediate team members to help them grow and write better code.

Success in this role will be measured by two main outcomes: minimizing bugs in production and consistently delivering work on time.

Please note: This is a hybrid role based in downtown Nashville, with an expectation of working in the office three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and remotely for the remaining two (Tuesday, Thursday). If you're specifically seeking a fully remote position or hoping to transition this role to fully remote in the future, this may not be the right fit.

Responsibilities

• Help shape the future of our BerniePortal platform and future properties
• Write PHP with Laravel & Drupal - and JavaScript - ES6 with Vue.js & jQuery
• Review and provide feedback on other developers’ contributions
• Identify and offer solutions to problems within all areas of BerniePortal’s stack
• Continually improve yourself and, by extension, our software offering
  
  

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience as a software developer in any language
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Strong object-oriented programming (OOP) skills
• Strong knowledge of code design patterns
• Highly detail-oriented with a focus on code quality and precision
