OVERVIEW:
As the leader of our brand across social platforms, you will shape the social media strategy to
increase reach and engagement. Managing a team of specialists, you’ll develop data-driven
strategies to inform our social media approach, foster meaningful connections with our global
audience, and be responsible for the execution and results of our efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop social strategy and manage a team of specialists. Oversee day-to-day UoPeople social media channel operations: create social media content, propel channel growth, engage in active social listening and community management, and grow our brand ambassador and influencer programs
- Track performance KPIs and translate data into informed action plans.
- Collaborate with the AVP Strategic Growth to develop overarching social media and community strategies on existing platforms and expand to new channels
- Create monthly social media editorial calendar in alignment with overall brand social strategy in support of launches, brand events and other key initiatives
- Stay up to date on current and upcoming trends and innovations in the social media landscape and communicate these to management for implementation into strategy.
- Plan out graphics and video needs with production teams
- Conduct webinars with experts from the university, host live events on social
- Step in when needed to respond to comments and questions on our social channels.
- Seek opportunities to insert the brand into social conversation, whether around relevant trending topics/news or engaging with social influencers/other brands
- Research professional development opportunities for the social media team to stay ahead of the competition and continuously improve strategies
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, business, or media.
- 7+ years professional experience, including 5+ years in social media community management.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to demonstrate the value of social to the wider goals
- Creative skills for contributing innovative ideas. Ability to grasp trends in digital technologies and be proactive.
- Strong project management skills ensuring all deadlines are met and objectives are clearly communicated.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a keen interest in the university mission.
- Willingness and capability to respond to critical issues on social, working across internal department leads (occasionally outside normal business hours
