Job Description
The IT Senior Salesforce Developer is a key leader in developing, customizing, and optimizing our client's Salesforce environment. The role requires deep technical expertise in Salesforce development, administration, and integration while ensuring alignment with the company’s IT strategies. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business solutions, lead development initiatives, mentor junior team members, and ensure the security and scalability of Salesforce deployments. A strong emphasis is placed on proactive system performance management, user support, and maintaining system integrity per company's business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership and expertise across Salesforce domains, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, SOSL, metadata management, and package deployment.
- Collaborate with the Director of IT to develop and implement Salesforce strategies that support the company's evolving business needs and long-term objectives.
- Lead Agile development sprints and manage the full lifecycle of complex Salesforce projects, from design to deployment.
- Mentor and support IT Specialists and team members, facilitating professional growth and ensuring best practices are upheld.
- Oversee the rollout of Salesforce updates, security patches, scheduled releases, and validation activities to ensure system reliability and compliance.
- Continuously monitor system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maximize system efficiency and uptime.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective Salesforce solutions, ensuring the platform meets current and future needs.
- Provide expert-level technical support to internal and external users, emphasizing customer service and timely issue resolution.
- Implement and enforce security protocols, ensuring that company data and systems remain protected against unauthorized access.
- Produce clear, comprehensive technical documentation, including system designs, configuration changes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Stay abreast of new Salesforce features, tools, and industry trends, and recommend solutions that align with company goals and technology roadmap.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of IT.
Skills, Qualifications, & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred; however, 10+ years of relevant IT experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce development, administration, and architecture.
- Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Developer, and/or Architect-level) are required to demonstrate mastery of Salesforce environments.
- Proven experience leading Salesforce solution design and implementation, ensuring scalability, security, and adherence to best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, such as Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office Suite, to enhance collaboration and productivity.
- Expertise in integrating Salesforce with third-party systems and tools, data migration, and custom application development.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira to manage project tasks, workflows, and team collaboration.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git and GitHub, ensuring robust code management practices.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of Salesforce solutions in life sciences or regulated industries is highly valued.
- Experience with computerized system validation (CSV) is advantageous.
- Experience in software commercialization is a plus.
Additional Information
In-office work is required, with flexibility for remote work arrangements, as needed, to support project delivery and team collaboration. Work will be conducted within a secure, restricted-access, single-tenant facility located in Middlesex, NC.
