SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR/CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR (MRICS QUALIFIED)
INTRODUCTION:
UN!Q Project Solutions, a 10-year-old business' with circa 115+ staff across the UAE, KSA and India, is looking to strengthen its existing Cost Management teams in Dubai, with exciting opportunities for several talented MRICS-qualified Senior Quantity Surveying/Contract Administrator professionals able to provide added value to our partners' projects and portfolios on secured Hospitality, Residential, Leisure + Entertainment across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the wider UAE for the following teams:
Whereby the chosen candidate(s) will be reporting to the Associate Director - Cost Management, but shall have day to day responsibility for managing large a Contract Administration remits from our partners' site-offices in Dubai South, they must have demonstratable previous experience of successful cost consultancy delivery of major projects, as these individuals will be responsible for providing best-in-class service solutions to our valued partners, thereby maintaining UN!Qs has a growing reputation in the market.
Additionally, as MRICS members the chosen candidate(s) will also be expected to mentor, train and develop our talented Quantity Surveyors working towards their RICS APC, working with our Associate Director - Cost Management, to ensure the highest professional standards are maintained across the entire business.
While these opportunities are open to all MRICS candidates, this would ideally suit candidates from the UAE, KSA, Qatar and Oman or the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia or New Zealand looking for their first Middle East posting. RESPONSIBILITIES (As applicable to the specific role):
- Attend all progress and relevant stakeholder meetings, making contract and commercial representation
- Be proficient in FIDIC Red and Yellow Book Administration, RICS Rules of Measurement, Quantification, Cost Planning and Estimating, and Pricing Schedule (Bills of Quantities) preparation, including GFA, NIA, POMI, NRM 1 and 2, CESSM
- Drafting of Contractual Notices for the Engineer
- Tendering and Procurement strategy and implementation
- Ensure Cost Reports are a true reflection of the commercial status of the project, forecasting cost at completion/ Final Account
- Manage Interim Payment applications per the Contract
- Change Management through the construction phase to determine the validity of variations against the Contract Agreement and determine and advise of any contractual and financial impact
- Manage significant Provisional Sum packages, including any tendering and re-measurements
- Support the Engineer and Project Manager for any dispute resolution and avoidance/mitigation plans as necessary. Provide Contractual and Commercial analysis and recommendations
- Provide contractual and commercial updates consistently to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress and ensure continuous engagement and communication until satisfactory project completion
- Manage contracts with suppliers and determine best-value solutions
- Monitor progress and ensure compliance with agreed programmes and budgets
- Manage risk register and mitigate potential events
- Chair commercial meetings and ensure reports are true and accurate reflection of project status
- Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution in line with local authority requirements
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MRICS Quantity Surveying professional accreditation mandatory
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Quantity Surveying
- 10+ years of Quantity Surveying/Cost Management and related experience for Tier 1 Cost Consultants
- Must have previously managed contractual and commercial delivery of significant Post-Contract projects
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively
- Strong familiarity with Cost Management software tools (CostX), FIDIC Suite of Contracts, methodologies, and best industry practices
- Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle of cradle-to-grave
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
