Job Description

Job Overview:

The Senior Quality Ops Specialist uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the Operations of Quality Discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise in the Quality Operations. They solve complex problems and use discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Quality Ops Specialist impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Operations Team and Project Teams and ensures that they work within the appropriate Policies, Procedures, Work instructions and Guidelines.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Report day-to-day activities to the Quality Manager and relevant Stakeholders
  • Plan & Conduct QMS Audits as per ISO 9001:2015 and McDermott management system requirements
  • Plan & Conduct Project Quality Audits as per approved Project Quality Audit Schedule (Internal and Supplier/Subcontractor Audits)
  • Strategic planning & execution of Quality Trainings for office and project sites
  • Monitor closure of Quality observations and findings and coordinate with stakeholders for timely closure
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on Non-conformities and Quality Incidents
  • Conduct Quality Management Review Meetings
  • Conduct Surveillance on multiple Projects to verify compliance to project procedures and Client requirements
  • Collaborate with different business line and Global offices for Quality updates
  • Monitor Quality performances for Oil & Gas projects through Quality tools and systems and suggest improvements
  • Support Site teams on Quality related requirements and issues
  • Develop and implement Quality plans for Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed engineering phase, EPC phases upto project handover phase
  • Supervise Quality Control activities to determine conformity to customer specifications through various Surveillance, Audits, Inspection and testing as per the Project requirements
  • Identify non-conformity for rectification and ensure final resolution
  • Direct, Supervise and Participate in inspection activities to ensure product & services quality
  • Consult with the Project Quality Manager concerning prevention and appraisal resources and the effectiveness of the Project Quality Plan / Procedures necessary to achieve product & services quality
  • Initiate evaluation for non-conforming items
  • Develop Project Quality Plans, Inspection, and Test Plans in consultation with Project Quality Manager
  • Liaise with QC / NDT / Certification / Welding Engineering and customer to ensure that Quality problems are addressed and technically resolved
  • Appraise product quality by the Project Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan and determine conformity and non-conformity
  • Provide interpretation of applicable code specifications and customer requirements. Any deviation, clarification, and waivers are to be documented through the Site Query System
  • Coordinate interface with Operations, Certifying Authority, Client, and subcontractor assuring the conformity to project specifications
  • Verify QC Inspector effectiveness through random audits of CIRs
  • Exercise a proactive approach to the prevention of a problem by interfacing with Engineering, SCM, Project management, Construction management and other applicable teams.
  • Liaise with Customer Representatives to ensure product & services conformity and stage release for each activity denoted within the Project Quality Plan / ITP
  • Regular Visits to Sites, Suppliers and Subcontractors for Quality monitoring and trainings, across the globe (including Oil & Gas projects in remote locations)

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Engineering Bachelor’s degree is preferred from a reputed university
  • Minimum ten (10) years of relative experience in quality
  • Minimum six (06) years of Corporate experience (Oil & Gas) in quality management (not only Vendor inspections)
  • Quality experience in Engineering & Project management of Oil & Gas projects is a must (Home office)
  • Experience of working with Global offices & stakeholders is a must
  • Oil & Gas EPC site experience is a must Lead auditor in ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 is mandatory
  • Project management certification will be an added advantage
  • Data analysis, Excellent Communication and Training skills are mandatory
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Proficient with making dashboards for Quality performance, KPIs and Quality tools and systems
