Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer. This position will be located at our North Charleston, SC facility. This site has long served as a Machining Center of Excellence for our Aerospace Group, with just under 200 employees, manufacturing hydraulic pumps for commercial and military aircraft.
This position is responsible for providing quality engineering support to their high-performance work team including the development of inspection techniques to meet print requirements, driving root cause and corrective action related to internal and external quality performance and supporting internal and external quality related audits.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year.

What You’ll Do
- Determine, develop, and monitor inspection and verification techniques to meet design requirements, including new product releases for prototype and production products.
- Develop, implement, and monitor all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Maintain accurate records to comply with company and customer record retention requirements.
- Respond to customer corrective action requests including full root cause analysis, determination of permanent corrective actions and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Work with internal and external customers to interpret or reach agreement on quality procedures and acceptability of products.
- Monitor and create action plans to meet key business metrics including Productivity, On-Time Delivery, First Pass Yield, and Cycle Time/Backlog.
- Develop methods to eliminate quality problems and improve manufacturing process through collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management, and suppliers.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and the implementation of Lean activities to eliminate waste in key processes.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of North Charleston, SC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- ASQ certification.
- Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience in aerospace products and applications.
- Experience with complex machined materials.
