POSITION OBJECTIVE


We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join SLSCO and lead multi-million dollar design-build and construction management projects in Puerto Rico. This role involves overseeing project execution, coordinating with owners and subcontractors, and ensuring timely, budget-conscious delivery. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong communication skills and experience managing large-scale public sector projects. POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead and manage multi-million dollar design-build and construction management projects, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with owners, subcontractors, and project teams to maintain clear communication and project success.
  • Oversee field operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Track project costs, manage budgets, and implement cost-saving strategies to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely execution and proactive problem-solving.
  • Review contracts, specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers, construction managers, and site teams.
  • Support technical and administrative functions, including reporting, documentation, and compliance tracking.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED


  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale construction projects ($40M+), preferably in K-12, higher education, or public sector work.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect in Puerto Rico preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with owners, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to manage budgets, track project costs, and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Experience overseeing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contracts, safety, and quality standards.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations, contract negotiations, and risk management.
