Position Overview:

We are hiring a Senior Project Manager – Aviation to lead construction and development projects at a major international airport in Dulles, VA. This individual will serve as a primary representative for aviation-related initiatives, supporting the delivery of capital projects with a strong emphasis on communication, leadership, and process improvement. The ideal candidate brings experience managing projects in complex, dynamic environments like airports, with a proven ability to coordinate stakeholders and ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the daily primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants as an owner’s representative.
• Leverage a background in construction, engineering, or aviation to smoothly integrate into client organizations.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to develop front-end budgets, schedules, risk assessments, and status reports.
• Define scopes of work in collaboration with client stakeholders.
• Create and maintain project execution plans, adapting as necessary to meet shifting requirements.
• Review and manage deliverables and ensure quality control in accordance with company procedures.
• Use analytical tools and dashboards to enhance performance tracking and drive process improvement.
• Effectively present project updates and pitch ideas to leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead and monitor interior renovations, ground-up builds, and aviation-related improvements, including concession and retail spaces.
• Attend to other duties as assigned by project leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale projects, ideally within complex environments such as airports or campuses.
• Experience in aviation, material handling equipment, or baggage systems is highly preferred.
• PMP, LEED AP, or CCM certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software such as Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and ePM tools.
• Demonstrated ability to think analytically, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be eligible for and capable of obtaining a security badge for access to airport facilities.
• Familiarity with delivering aviation and/or commercial projects in the DC Metro area is highly desirable.
