The Senior Project Manager (DIA Europe) is accountable for designing, developing, and executing assigned DIA meetings, training, events, and programs that perform at or better than budget, and that all programs effectively serve DIA members and customers in the pharmaceutical and life science industries, government agencies, service provider organizations and academia in the EMEA. This position’s primary focus is the DIA Europe Annual Meeting.

  • Develop and manage project plans related to a DIA project/product to ensure their successful delivery. This includes the DIA Europe Annual Meeting and assigned Specialty Meetings.
  • Develop an accurate budget and ensure each meeting meets or exceeds the budgeted performance; promptly resolve or escalate variances or issues.

Program Management

  • Together with the Content team, identify improvements in the program development process and supporting tools.
  • Introduce innovation in participant engagement.
  • Research competition and similar offerings.
  • Identify optimal delivery methods to maximize content impact, including non-traditional educational formats, virtual, in-person, and hybrid.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to develop and enhance the portfolio.
  • Develop a realistic budget for the portfolio assigned events and ensure the events meet or exceed budgeted performance; promptly resolve or escalate variances or issues.
  • Work with the Manager, Meeting Operations to manage the online program and invited speakers.

Meeting Management

  • Develop a roadmap and manage project plans for assigned events to ensure their successful execution.
  • Ensure smooth onsite event execution (including set up and administration of attendee pre-registration, AV and room set-ups or WebEx set up, onsite registration and payment collections, speaker support, monitoring and guidance of venue staff and services, supervision of additional DIA or temporary staff, and overall troubleshooting).
  • Complete post-meeting activities, including preparing reports, event closeouts, evaluations, review of registration and financial data according to standard procedures.
  • Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

To join with us you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and CMP/CEP, PMP (US) or other related certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years OF experience in planning, project managing, and implementing international medium size meetings, conferences and or events.
  • Strong Project Management skills – professional certificate a plus.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, association, medical education and/or healthcare events preferred.
  • Experience with people management – small teams.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant systems and software with strong computer skills, including Microsoft Windows/Office and AMS Personify (preferred).
  • Highly motivated and able to plan, monitor and complete multiple projects; effectively coordinates and manages scope, resources, time, cost, quality, risk and communications to deliver quality meetings and results.
  • Highly effective negotiator; able to build and maintain vendor relationships during high-stakes contract negotiation and disputes.
  • Able to interact effectively and appropriately in a global environment with individuals of various organizational levels (up to C-level), professions, and cultures.
  • Ability to travel, including occasional international travel.
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in other languages a bonus.
