Summary

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their leading renewable energy organization. They will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the company's solar and storage projects, including project planning, budgeting, procurement, project controls and reporting, scheduling, risk management, and commissioning. The Sr. Project Manager provides leadership and technical guidance to other Project Managers, Construction Managers, Electrical Managers, and related staff. The Sr. Project Manager also assists in business development efforts and participates in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, financial, and executive teams.

  • Manage the full project lifecycle: planning, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, risk management, and commissioning.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to project teams, including Construction and Electrical Managers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and executive teams; support business development efforts.
  • Direct preconstruction processes, ensuring compliance with contract conditions.
  • Lead permitting and utility interconnection processes.
  • Oversee subcontractor bid packages, procurement, and labor coordination.
  • Work closely with procurement and warehousing to ensure timely delivery of equipment.
  • Plan and oversee project sequencing, labor productivity, and cost forecasting.
  • Ensure site safety by developing and enforcing safety protocols and training.
  • Manage project accounting, billing schedules, cash flow, and receivables in coordination with financial staff.
  • Ensure timely documentation using project management software (e.g., daily logs, RFIs, change orders).
  • Identify and negotiate change orders; communicate with stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates, including cost and schedule forecasting.
  • Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and regular meetings.
  • Mentor and supervise team members; support professional development.
  • Proactively manage risk and conflict throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure quality control via Site-Specific Quality Management Plans and milestone inspections.
  • Drive continuous improvement through efficiency and quality initiatives.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of construction management experience
  • Including 3+ years in utility-scale solar or energy storage.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles including scheduling, cost control, procurement, and risk mitigation.
  • Knowledge of contract law, compliance, and project accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., Procore).
  • Experience managing complex project schedules.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, including multi-day trips to remote locations.


Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Management.
  • PMP certification.
  • Field construction experience.
