Senior Project Manager – Data Migration

About the Role:

Our client, a leading name in the retail sector, is seeking a highly capable Project Manager – Data & Analytics to lead the delivery of business-critical data initiatives. This role is pivotal in driving modern data strategies, including enterprise reporting, cloud data architecture, and outsourced development management.

This role is an initial 6 month contract with the view to extend based in the Melb CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end delivery of data platform and reporting projects, with a strong focus on Power BI and Azure Data Lake
• Coordinate the design and implementation of multi-tiered data structures to support business intelligence and analytics
• Lead vendor relationships, ensuring quality and timely delivery from outsourced development teams
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Monitor project performance, budgets, and timelines, proactively managing risks and dependencies
• Ensure data governance, quality, and security practices are embedded throughout delivery

Skills & Experience:

• Proven track record of managing data and analytics projects in a large-scale or enterprise environment
• Hands-on experience with Power BI development and deployment
• Strong understanding of Azure-based data hosting, including Data Lake, Data Factory, and related services
• Experience architecting or overseeing multi-layered data environments
• Demonstrated ability to manage third-party and offshore development partners
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) desirable
