该职位来源于猎聘 SUMMARY This Senior Project Engineering Manager is responsible for driving product design and development in the Baby, Infant or Preschool Toys Products categories.
Provide engineering support in the day-to-day execution of the early product development process and deliverables from the Global Design & Innovation (GDI) team. This includes interfacing with internal and external partners to ensure product cost, product performance, quality, manufacturing feasibility and development schedule. This Senior Project Engineering Manager leads, manages, and aligns all necessary activities during the early development phase in support of a successful hand off to the Manufacturing Engineering team for tool build. The Senior Project Engineering Manager is also responsible for effective communication with different campuses and functions to achieve desired results. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluate technology/solutions and grade them on metrics of cost/IP/complexity/resource.
Frame up visual solutions (both product and manufacturing) for exec engagement to drive excitement for current and future offerings.
Capitalize on China experience for technology tracking and integration development.
Employ a fail-fast rapid innovation approach to development to determine path forward.
Engaging suppliers for potential partnerships utilizing their technology or supporting in-house development.
Sense check path forward with risk analysis, user value adds and cost backing.
Schedule management for electronic content deliverables to ensure product development stays on track to meet business needs.
Monitor technical deliverables including specifications, cost estimates, and POC breadboards to ensure the product definition can meet brand expectations.
Support vendor meetings to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder buy-in.
Collaborate with the Business Units to provide engineering updates and facilitate resolution on product cost, design, feature, or function issues.
Collaborate with Category & Product Manager to provide gate deliverables related to GDI product development activity or escalate schedule risks.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure on-time tool release and follow up on any GDI support needed in pre-production.
Provide critical evaluation of business brief, project feasibility and budget before new project approval. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
5+ years of profesional experience in product development, project management, engineering, or manufacturing
Product development experience in TOY industry on Baby toy, Infant toy or Preschool toy is highly preferred. EDUCATION & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience required.
Good knowledge of CAD, building materials (resin, metal, fabric etc.) and tooling to manufacturing.
Knowledge of worldwide toys standards is advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate across cross-functional teams.
Understanding of the product development lifecycle and phase gate process.
Ability to execute and excel in a fast-paced organization.
Ability to deal with changing environments, tight timelines, and multiple priorities.
Ability to influence others without direct authority.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral English communication skills – including the ability to describe technical details in a relatable manner to a variety of audiences COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
Experience using CAD software; Pro-E/Creo and/or Solidworks Preferred.
Knowledge of WorkFront, ERP, and/or Business Management systems
