Senior Project Engineer

Location: North-west England (Hybrid)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £65,000

Piper Maddox are working with a global renewable energy IPP who have a pipeline exceeding 25GW. As they further expand in the UK, they are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.

You will take a lead in developing technical designs, managing project engineering through various phases, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise technical designs using PVsyst, PVCase, and other tools.
• Lead engineering workstreams from feasibility to detailed design and construction.
• Coordinate with technical advisors, contractors, and survey providers.
• Prepare technical documentation for tenders, contracts, and project approvals.
• Oversee technical compliance during installation and commissioning.
• Support due diligence and interface with external consultants, ICPs, and Owner’s Engineers.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or similar.
• Experience with utility-scale solar PV and/or battery projects.
• Proficiency in solar design software (PVsyst, PVCase).
• Good understanding of UK electrical and renewable energy standards.
