Senior Project Engineer – Electrical Power Systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managed and oversaw power systems projects from planning to execution, ensuring adherence to schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Provide technical leadership to field and shop technicians, including training, guidance, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate activities between project managers, engineers, field teams, and other departments to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with electrical safety and quality standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA, NEC, etc.).
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve project execution, field operations, and safety performance.
  • Review technical test reports and final project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead investigations into equipment or project deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Evaluate test equipment performance and recommend upgrades or purchases as needed.
  • Respond promptly to client and internal communications, maintaining strong project coordination.
  • Support the delivery of technical and safety training programs for field personnel.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems project management, electrical testing, or commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of low and medium voltage equipment (e.g., switchgear, transformers, protective relays, MCCs).
  • Familiarity with NETA standards for electrical system testing and commissioning.
  • Proficiency in industry regulations and codes: NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, NEC, OSHA, IEEE.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site and lead field teams in dynamic project environments.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • NETA Level II (or higher) or NICET certification.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and field safety audits.
  • Familiarity with project reporting tools and asset management systems.
