Summary

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER / SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER


The Assistant Project Manager/Senior Project Engineer will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and be responsible for elements of cost management, subcontractor management, schedule, project data coordination, and miscellaneous critical activities. As a developer/builder, the team takes an active role guiding the design team in execution of the work. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with our consultants and trade contractors while adding builder value to our project. The ideal candidate needs to possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, the ability to think analytically, and be driven.


Certain elements may be assigned requiring dedicated support:

-Occupancy and pressurization testing

-Owner driven design revisions

-Project Closeout

-Pre-construction assistance on other Concord Pacific projects

-Building area of responsibility including responsibility for managing submittals, RFIs, resolving field issues, and all other assigned work.


COST MANAGEMENT

-Budget Event Tracking – Tracking and estimating of cost events that affect the budget and potentially require a contingency allocation.

-Draw Request Support– Verify trade contractor logs are current

-Monthly Project Report Support – Review monthly cost report with SPM. Evaluate cost to complete on assigned elements. Verify trade contractor logs are current


SUBCONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT

-Complete knowledge of subcontractor scope and relation to the work of other trades.

-Trade Contractor Change Orders - Prepare and manage changes

-Initiate Subcontractor Work

-Trade Contractor Closeout – Manage trade contractor closeout process

-Consultant change order - Assist SPM.


SCHEDULE

-Update and enhance master project and short-interval schedules as directed


MISCELLANEOUS SYSTEMS

-Assist SPM in the verification that project data systems are in place and up to date.

-Project Tracking Documentation – Head office reports

-Project Data Coordination

-Permit Management – Building, ROW, and other permits Manager.



About You


-Minimum 7 years of experience with a general contractor as a project engineer or assistant project manager involved in complex construction projects. High-rise and residential experience is a plus.

-Bachelors degree in engineering, construction, architecture, or a related field.

-Must excel at reading documents and have the ability to resolve complex issues involving quality, time, and cost.

-Proficient working in Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam (or other PDF software). Experience with information management platforms and with MS Project (or other scheduling software) is a plus.

-Strong verbal and written communication skills

-High level of attention to detail and the ability to drive issues to conclusion.
