Title: Project Accountant- Development

Location: Northwest Washington, D.C.

Type: Direct Hire, Permanent

Compensation: $100,000-120,000 plus bonus

Our client, a large REIT, is looking to add a Project Accountant to their growing development accounting team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. Successful incumbent will have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and 3+ years of development, project, construction, or property accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
• Work closely with project managers to oversee project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to optimize project profitability.
• Prepare and present financial reports and statements related to project performance.
• Reconcile project accounts and address discrepancies in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cost/development/project accounting, with an emphasis of experience in the real estate, development or construction industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
