The Opportunity

As a Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for independently managing complex strategic programs in the domain of Information Security but could also be required to deliver programs centred on SAP and IT Infrastructure or Microsoft platforms such as Power Platform and Dynamics. Your role will involve leading medium to large program teams, mentoring less experienced staff, and actively contributing to the continuous improvement of program and project delivery functions.

You will;

  • Ensure program and project delivery meets scope, cost, time, and quality targets
  • Collaborate with executives and stakeholders to lead strategic business change programs
  • Implement control strategies to manage multiple complex projects
  • Resolve complex problems using root-cause analysis and change management
  • Mentor less experienced team members and identify development opportunities
  • Contribute to document quality assurance and continuous improvement of program delivery

The People You'll Join

Reporting to the Program Portfolio Director, you will be a key part of the Program Portfolio team. The Program Portfolio team encompasses the management and delivery of a collection of projects and programs that align with Powerlink's strategic and operational goals. The team is responsible for ensuring that IT initiatives are executed effectively, align with business objectives, and deliver value to the organisation.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree-level qualification in Information Technology, Business, Engineering or another relevant tertiary qualification coupled with significant experience
  • Qualifications in Project/Program Management (i.e. Prince2. MSP)

As a seasoned IT professional looking to make a significant impact on enterprise-wide business change programs and projects, you are skilled in managing large program teams and are passionate about mentoring and developing emerging talents.

Managing multiple complex projects simultaneously will be your forte, and you will be at the forefront of driving strategic initiatives, collaborating with senior stakeholders including executives, to lead and shape our organisation's digital transformation. Your expertise in program management will see you develop and implement robust control strategies to ensure projects' scope, schedule, cost, and quality continue to align with business objectives throughout their lifecycle and meet the highest quality standards.

With prior success in directing multidisciplinary teams of high performing professionals within a complex and changing environment, you will lead by example to create an environment that is psychologically safe, inclusive and fosters innovation, you will apply your ability to solve complex problems and coach others using a customer focused, solutions-oriented approach.
