Overview:
Responsible for directing and overseeing the apprenticeship program life cycle with a commitment to excellence. This includes community and candidate outreach, onboarding, meticulous management of apprenticeship data, and ensuring compliance with regulations from entities such as the Department of Labor (DOL), National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The role extends to providing support services to apprentices, construction project teams, preconstruction, payroll, legal, and apprenticeship program team members while crafting and managing highly effective programs aligned with MasTec Renewables strategic objectives. Guided by principles of collaboration, innovation, quality and an unwavering commitment to safety, this role elevates the apprenticeship programs to unparalleled heights.
Location and Travel:
This is a remote position, which can be based anywhere in the U.S. This position supports our business across the United States. This position does require 50% travel throughout the United States.

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Forge deep connections across the organization, from the ground level to executive leadership
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team and ensure alignment with company goals and initiatives
Act as a subject matter expert for the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) as it relates to apprenticeship requirements to support upstream and downstream contractual obligations
Spearhead collaboration with HR business partners, Talent Acquisition team members, and functional business stakeholders
Prioritize and recommend apprenticeship program initiatives for target roles or under-represented groups, ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach
Oversee daily operations and project management processes, including program administration, data tracking, budgeting, grant management, record keeping, and reporting
Manage a team of professionals, ensuring every aspect of the apprenticeship programs (internal and external) reflect the organization's commitment to excellence and innovation
Ensure strict compliance with corporate program standards and federal regulations
Maintain and update internal policies and existing standards, revising apprenticeship standards as needed to meet evolving requirements
Consult with internal & external counsel to ensure all contracts upstream & downstream comply with MasTec Renewables Apprenticeship program
Work closely with the US Department of Labor (DOL) and utilize the DOL Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Data System (RAPIDS) to monitor apprentice progress and ensure successful program completion
Collaborate with recruiters to conduct outreach and recruitment strategies for future apprentices, building a robust network of apprentices to support ongoing apprenticeship opportunities
Coordinate and participate in the attendance of trade shows as required for the needs of recruiting and further education
Develop and maintain strategic partner relationships with high schools and local community colleges, fostering sustained growth in apprenticeships and ensuring a strong talent pipeline
Lead efforts related to grant-funded project activities, tracking, and reporting data related to apprentices, On-the Job Training (OJT), and Related Technical Instruction (RTI)
Ensure compliance with grant and program requirements as applicable, demonstrating the program's effectiveness and responsible use of funding
Leverage NCCER curriculum to develop apprentices
Serve as an NCCER secondary representative and administrator for MasTec Renewables
Travel to jobsites as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
7+ years of relevant experience
Experience in construction or maintenance, as well as training and development
Experience managing Apprenticeship Programs preferred
NCCER Master Trainer Certification and experience with implementing or oversite of NCCER programs preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward CE&I’s Zero Injury principles
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software, PowerBI, and data analysis gathering
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong eye for detail in reports and documentation
Ability to take initiative, work with minimal supervision, and maintain an elevated level of confidentiality
Excellent organizational skills and able to multi-task
Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees/apprentices
Ability to influence others
Ability to collaborate and drive change across the organization
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance competing priorities
Ability to manage and resolve conflict and disagreements in a positive and constructive manner
Demonstrated ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships

Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
