Summary

Senior Program/Financial Analyst – Community Programs & Research


  • Chicago, IL
  • Hybrid – 2 days onsite.

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a dynamic team focused on improving behavioral health and resilience in children and communities. This role will support both research and community program operations by managing and analyzing pre-award and post-award grants, philanthropic contributions, and contracted services. The analyst will play a vital role in financial planning, reporting, reconciliation, and ensuring effective stewardship of all funding sources.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monthly financial reporting and consolidation, including trend analysis and utilization metrics.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and both balance sheet and income statement reports.
  • Support the development and distribution of operating and capital budgets.
  • Provide financial information and analysis to departmental leaders to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare and distribute month-end responsibility reports to various stakeholders and leadership.
  • Review and approve expenditures and ensure alignment with allocated funds.
  • Maintain and help improve departmental financial policies and reporting formats.
  • Serve as a liaison for audit preparation and support audited financial statements and disclosures.
  • Collaborate with fund accounting teams to support fund tracking and reporting.
  • Serve as a resource for accounting staff, ensuring practices are aligned with current accounting standards.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial or healthcare-related role.
  • Workday experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and all levels of the organization.
