Introduction
We are looking for a
Senior Process Metallurgist to join our Process Performance team in the Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy (BDH) Business Line in the Services Business Area. In this role, your task is to provide high technical expertise, on-site support and enable the Market Area front-line development for the Flotation technology area. This is a challenging and rewarding role in one of the most profitable business lines with industry-leading technologies and services. This position can be located in Finland, Canada or the United States. You will report to the Senior Manager, Process Performance, located in the United States. Global travel for short-term assignments (up to 40%) and meetings with our customers and stakeholders worldwide is an integral part of this position.
What You Do
- Provide high process and product expertise within Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy (BDH) technologies
- Travel to customer sites globally to conduct flotation circuit audits and surveys
- Conduct flotation circuit data analysis to identify bottlenecks and provide recommendations for improvement, with a focus on BDH product solutions
- Be part of the team providing on-site process (slurry) commissioning services for flotation cells and circuits.
- Provide operator and metallurgical engineering level flotation training regarding flotation fundamentals, best operating and control practices, and troubleshooting.
- Provide process-related support for sales and account management teams
- Support service sales, proposals, and strategic programs
- Provide customer feedback for relevant stakeholders
- Contribute to technical support workflow and provide input to Technical Documentation
- Ensure proper fulfillment of all QEHS rules and regulations
- Act as a link between the BL and Market areas
Who You Are
- Master’s degree in Minerals Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy or similar
- Preferably 3+ years of experience in the minerals processing industry, including experience in operation, commissioning, ramp-up & optimization of mineral processing plants and products
- Familiarity with the use of JKSimFloat, HSC and/or other flotation simulation software, with a good understanding of the underlying models is needed
- Customer focus with a service-minded attitude
- Understanding of Lifecycle Sales and services
- Fluency in written and verbal English
- Flotation experience is an asset
