Freelance Opportunity: Senior Process Engineer

Location: Brussels (2–3 days/week onsite, rest remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer for a long-term freelance assignment with one of our global clients based in Brussels. This role is embedded within an agile squad focused on the development and continuous improvement of processes related to International Payments. You’ll collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders to design, assess, and optimize processes in line with strategic goals, customer needs, and operational realities.

Responsibilities

As an End-to-End Process Manager, you will:

• Define and implement new business processes aligned with enterprise architecture and strategic objectives.
• Refine and optimize existing processes to improve customer satisfaction, efficiency, and risk management.
• Conduct process reviews and suggest improvements based on data insights, KPIs, and customer feedback.
• Contribute to application changes by defining requirements and participating in testing when necessary.
• Liaise with business units, operations, and IT teams to align processes with real-world execution.
• Create and maintain clear, accessible process documentation to support consistency and compliance.
• Ensure processes meet internal and external regulations (Legal, Compliance, Control, etc.).
• Support change management activities including user training, communication, and post-deployment support.

Required Skills & Experience

• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in business/process analysis and change management
• Proven experience with process modelling tools and flow chart creation
• SharePoint familiarity is a plus
• Solid knowledge of process improvement methodologies
• Experience with user testing and demo preparation
• Understanding of risk management and internal controls
• Background in payments is a plus
