Senior Platform Engineer - AWS

• Largely remote with occasional visits to site - London
• £90,000 - £100,000 PA + bonus and benefits package
• Need to have or be eligible for UK Security Clearance

Digital Skills is looking for a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer who is able to lead decisions in delivering secure, scalable, and dynamic cloud platforms. You will work with teams of skilled engineers, have opportunities to work with AWS, while delivering cutting-edge technology into the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and evolution of AWS platforms at scale, leveraging AWS Organisations, Landing Zones, and multi-account best practices.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
• Champion security, compliance, and observability by integrating services like AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Inspector.
• Design CI/CD pipelines to enable seamless deployments and self-service models for customers.
• Innovate with AWS Networking, KMS, IAM, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS).

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in multi-tenanted platform architectures and multi-account AWS setups.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages for automation and Scripting.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS Networking, TLS, and security best practices.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS) and observability tools (Grafana, ELK).
