Summary

Join us in shaping the future of biodiversity and environmental sustainability.

Are you passionate about building technology that makes a real-world impact? At FaunaPhotonics, we use IoT-powered sensing technologies to monitor biodiversity — and we're looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to help us continuously improve and innovate our customer portal, which transforms sensor data into actionable insights.

We’d love to hear from you if you have solid experience with PHP and Laravel, and a structured, thoughtful approach to development.

🐞 About FaunaPhotonics

At FaunaPhotonics, we are at the forefront of biodiversity monitoring — providing essential data to support preservation and delivering insights into the effects of environmental interventions.

Our IoT sensor technologies capture insect activity, which is processed and analysed in our Data Lake using AI. The resulting biodiversity insights are delivered through our customer portal, enabling users to take informed action and document their impact. In doing so, we help drive sustainable solutions for the planet.

We’re a team of 12 professionals working from our office in Nordhavn. Our work environment embraces agile development, cross-functional collaboration, and a culture of innovation. We prioritise open dialogue, fail-fast experimentation, and an entrepreneurial mindset as we pursue our shared vision.

🔧 Your Role

We launched our customer portal in April 2024 to integrate with our IoT sensor technologies and deliver real-time insights into ecosystem health. With the foundation in place, we’re now focused on enhancing the platform based on user feedback — simplifying how we visualise biodiversity data, manage sensor installations, provide customer support, and monitor our fleet of devices.

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you’ll play a key role in this evolution. You’ll refine existing features, design and implement new functionality, and improve both the user experience and back-end architecture. Your contributions will directly impact how environmental data is accessed, understood, and acted upon by our customers.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve our customer portal based on user feedback and usage insights
  • Develop intuitive, user-friendly interfaces to present complex biodiversity and insect activity data
  • Collaborate with the team to integrate new technologies and maintain a scalable, cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)
  • Contribute to an agile environment, focusing on rapid iteration, continuous learning, and innovation
  • Ensure our customers can easily access, interpret, and act on real-time environmental data to support biodiversity efforts

🧩 What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience with:

  • DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and deployment on AWS
  • Frontend development using ReactJS
  • PHP (preferably Laravel)
  • Working with IoT devices

You are:

  • A structured developer who works methodically with an eye on scalability and maintainability
  • Experienced in building and maintaining robust web applications
  • Passionate about simplifying complex data into usable, customer-facing insights
  • Motivated by environmental sustainability and technology with a purpose
  • Comfortable in agile teams and collaborative, cross-functional settings

🌱 Why FaunaPhotonics?

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a company where technology meets environmental impact. You will contribute directly to a product that helps track biodiversity and foster a more sustainable future — with real data, real devices, and real impact.

📬 Interested?

We’d love to hear from you. Share your vision and your technical approach — tell us how you'd tackle this challenge and contribute to FaunaPhotonics' mission.
