Summary

We’re seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our growing team. In this key role, you will oversee all aspects of our multi-state payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing while enhancing operational efficiency. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and global payroll providers to create seamless payroll experiences for our employees. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage multi-state U.S. payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely semi-monthly and bi-weekly cycles.
  • Collaborate with our global payroll provider on monthly payroll cycles.
  • Design, manage, and document full-cycle payroll operations while continuously improving processes for efficiency and a better employee experience.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries in NetSuite and perform account reconciliations as part of month-end close activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including state setup, W2s, P11Ds, tax notices, and government correspondence.
  • Serve as the payroll system expert, overseeing day-to-day system management and collaborating with the People Operations team to maintain data integrity.
  • Work cross-functionally with Talent, People Ops, Compensation, and Strategic Finance teams, providing payroll and benefits expertise.
  • Identify risks and implement internal controls to safeguard payroll processes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll, addressing employee inquiries and supporting audit and global tax compliance requests.


THE SKILLSET YOU'LL BRING:

  • 5+ years of relevant payroll experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-state and federal labor laws, pay practices, and policies.
  • Proficiency with major payroll systems and data flows, with a readiness to learn new systems (experience with Rippling is a plus).
  • Experience in payroll account reconciliation.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality and data security.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex payroll topics to employees and management.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills (e.g., vlookups, pivot tables).
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Tax, HR, or a related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
  • International payroll experience is a plus.
  • Ability to independently manage payroll projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and successful completion.
