Senior OT Systems Engineer

As they continue to expand operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior OT Systems Engineer to join the team in Melbourne.
As a Senior OT Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Operational Technology (OT) network infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our OT systems. The successful candidate will bring expertise in OT network design, cybersecurity, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
OT Network Design and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust OT network architectures to support industrial processes.
- Ensure the integration of new technologies into existing OT environments while maintaining system reliability.
Cybersecurity:
- Develop and implement security protocols to safeguard OT networks from cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary measures.
Network Optimization and Performance:
- Monitor and optimize the performance of OT networks to meet operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to align OT network strategies with overall business objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of OT network configurations, protocols, and security measures.
- Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and recommended improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as an OT Network Engineer in an industrial setting.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus) and network technologies.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices in an OT environment.
- Previous experience as a Control Systems Engineer or strong familiarity with industrial automation systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve network issues promptly.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.
