Summary

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to independently lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-availability infrastructure for large-scale database platforms. This role ensures the stability, performance, and reliability of business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will offer technical leadership, provide strategic guidance, and ensure adherence to best practices in database administration and infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support robust database infrastructure and system software components.
  • Analyze business requirements and lead the evaluation, development, and recommendation of database technologies and solutions.
  • Implement and maintain high-availability infrastructure aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Lead configuration, debugging, and ongoing support of database systems while ensuring compliance with quality and change management standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of incidents, provide corrective actions, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Identify and proactively address gaps in support processes, documentation, or system performance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide regular reports on system status, operational incidents, and changes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and supporting enterprise-grade database systems.
  • Proven expertise in high availability, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and database automation.
  • Strong experience in database platform administration, including installation, patching, clustering, log-shipping, and tuning.
  • Experience with at least one enterprise-level operating system (Linux, Windows, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of data security, roles and privileges management, encryption, and audit compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to share knowledge and mentor others.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting.

Core Skills

  • Oracle DBA:
    • Advanced troubleshooting and administration skills.
    • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, backup/recovery, and replication.
    • Expertise in performance tuning and optimization techniques.
    • Deep understanding of Oracle security, audit, and compliance features.
  • Database Performance Tuning & Optimization:
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve performance issues at the database and query level.
  • High Availability & Replication:
    • Strong knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, AlwaysOn (SQL Server), and other replication technologies.
  • Database Security & Compliance:
    • Skilled in managing roles, privileges, encryption, and implementing audit policies.
