Key Responsibilities
Proactively manage all aspects of Oracle database administration, including performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, security, and backup/recovery operations.
Implement and maintain complex Oracle solutions, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and Exadata (if applicable).
Design and implement database optimization strategies, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to improve performance.
Conduct regular database health checks, analyze metrics, and troubleshoot performance issues.
Implement and enforce strict security measures to protect sensitive data.
Perform database upgrades following best practices, including prerequisites, testing, and post-upgrade tasks.
Effectively troubleshoot database corruption issues, identifying the type of corruption, rebuilding indexes, or utilizing RMAN.
Analyze AWR reports to identify top SQL statements, waiting events, and performance bottlenecks.
Address changing execution plans by analyzing AWR plans, creating baselines, and flushing old plan hash values.
Upgrade database clusters, ensuring proper backups, executing pre- and post-upgrade checks, and running root upgrades on nodes.
Skill & Experience
Expertise in Oracle database administration, specifically in version upgrades (12c to 19c).
Proven ability to resolve complex database errors, including ORA-600.
In-depth knowledge of corruption resolution techniques using RMAN.
Proficient in AWR report analysis and performance optimization.
Experience in managing dynamic execution plans, including baseline creation.
Familiarity with plan hash value management for query optimization.
Solid understanding of database cluster upgrades and associated pre-checks.
Hands-on experience with Oracle Clusterware (OCR and voting files).
Excellent communication skills for raising and following up on Oracle SRs.
Ability to collaborate with application teams for parameter changes and upgrades.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration at L3 level.
Demonstrated experience in successfully managing complex database tasks.
