Senior Office Accountant

The Senior Office Accountant is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for managing and overseeing the financial transactions and processes that ensure the company's fiscal integrity. This position plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and offering insights that inform strategic decision-making. By ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, the Senior Office Accountant enables the organization to operate smoothly within the financial landscape while minimizing risks associated with financial mismanagement. This role often serves as a mentor to junior accounting staff, facilitating knowledge-sharing and best practices in financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports for management.
  • Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis.
  • Conduct regular audits of financial documents and processes for compliance with standards.
  • Oversee tax preparation and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Train and mentor junior accountants and staff on financial processes and systems.
  • Assist in the development of financial strategies to optimize profitability.
  • Stay updated on financial regulations and industry trends to maintain compliance.
  • Collaborate with departments to provide financial insight and support as needed.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for management review.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Experience with tax preparation and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a supervisory or mentoring role is preferred.
  • CPA certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of budget management and financial forecasting techniques.
  • Understanding of internal control systems and auditing practices.
