Summary

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering, including design, implementation, and support of LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in Cisco environments, including working with Cisco Integrated Service Engine (ISE), routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale Cisco network solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Prime Infrastructure and Azure ExpressRoute.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.
  • Operational knowledge of cloud and hybrid environments, including Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Microsoft Entra ID, and Software Defined Networking (SDN).
  • Deep understanding of core infrastructure components including internet systems, firewalls, routers, switches, and cloud technologies.
  • Certifications:
  • Required: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Preferred: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage secure network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, NAC, IDS/IPS, and access control systems.
  • Configure and maintain network security appliances such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and similar platforms.
  • Monitor network activity, detect and respond to threats, perform security audits, and manage incident response workflows.
  • Support complex hybrid environments integrating SD-WAN, cloud and on-prem firewalls, wireless networks, load balancers, reverse proxies, and network access control.
  • Work with cloud-native infrastructure components such as virtual networks, security groups, and identity access management services.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Nagios) to ensure optimal network performance and availability.
  • Enforce security best practices, standards, and regulatory compliance across network systems.
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for network issues, including participation in on-call support as needed.
  • Experience with network and security tools including Websense, NetBrain, InfoBlox, SolarWinds, Atlas, NetFlow, ArgoSec, Riverbed, SteelHead, Splunk, ArcSight, and AWS.
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline network operations and reduce manual processes.
  • Support application and infrastructure load balancing using F5 (LTM/GTM), Akamai, and VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with wireless Ethernet technologies (802.11a/b/g/x) is a plus.
  • Manage antivirus and firewall rules, and ensure systems are consistently updated to meet evolving cybersecurity threats.
