Your Impact: As a Network Engineer, you will be a key driver of innovation and stability within our network infrastructure. You will configure, implement and manage a range of technical areas, including: * Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls * Fortinet firewalls and SD-WAN * Kemp load balancers * Internet and WAN circuit topology and design * High availability network design, configurations, and implementations * Ubiquiti wireless access points and controllers * Telecommunications and migration to the cloud Responsibilities: * Strategic Design, Implementation & Project Leadership (50%): * Work with the Senior Engineer to architect and design network solutions that align with business objectives * Lead the implementation of network solutions, aligning with business objectives and incorporating emerging technologies. * Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into actionable technical plans. * Research and evaluate new technologies, conducting vendor comparisons and cost estimations. * Drive the integration of IoT solutions to support our strategic growth initiatives. * Mentor and guide junior engineers in design and implementation best practices. * Work towards becoming a Senior Network engineer and architect that will guide the future network needs of the organization * Incident/Problem Management & Escalation (25%): * Serve as a technical escalation point for the IT team, providing expert-level troubleshooting and problem resolution. * Own and manage complex network incidents, collaborating with 3rd party providers as needed. * Respond to critical emergencies, both during and after business hours, ensuring minimal disruption to our services. * Develop and implement preventative measures to minimize future incidents. * Network Management, Administration & Team Leadership (25%): * Develop and implement network management procedures, including performance KPI reporting. * Conduct regular compliance audits and ensure network security. * Develop and maintain network lifecycle plans, anticipating future needs and upgrades. * Manage and negotiate with key network and telecommunications vendors. * Contribute to the development and growth of the network team by sharing knowledge and mentoring junior engineers. Requirements Qualifications: * 8+ years of experience in IT, designing, implementing, and supporting multi-site network infrastructures. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field required. * Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE) highly desired. * Familiarity with ITIL/SDLC concepts and principles. Technical Skills: In-depth, hands-on experience with: * Fortinet and Cisco ASA/Firepower firewalls (CLI/ASDM), Nexus and Catalyst core and edge switches, ISR routers. * Kemp load balancers. * Content Filtering (Barracuda and Fortinet). * BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, VxLAN, IP SLA, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VRF, Spanning-Tree, 802.1p/q, vPC, and other high availability configurations. * Firewall ACL, NAT, Policy, and Route-based L2L VPN configurations, SD-WAN. * Network monitoring tools (Nagios, PRTG, NetFlow, SNMP). * Troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, Cisco CML/VIRL, Traceroute, Syslog - Sumo Logic). * Network Taps and Packet Brokers. * Ubiquiti WLAN APs, controllers, 802.1x. * Visio, Excel, Word, Confluence. * Understanding of carrier transport technologies (MPLS, VPLS, DWDM, SDH). * Understanding of traditional analog and digital telecommunications. * Linux and open-source experience a plus.
