Dynamic Integrated Services (DIS) is currently seeking a Network Engineer to support and to work with the Simulation Learning Education and Research Network for The Veterans Administration, which is a high-technology, immersive environment that uses simulation to train VA medical personnel. Facility Management Services (FMS) Industrial Control Systems (ICS) network is an air-gapped secure network that is not on the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) network, medical network, or any other Veterans Affairs (VA) supported network. OIT doesn't support or manage the network components, devices and end-points. OVAMC is committed to providing our patients with the highest quality of care in a safe. About the Role: We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Simulation Learning Education and Research Network for the Veterans Administration. This role involves managing and enhancing the secure Facility Management Services Industrial Control Systems (ICS) network, an air-gapped infrastructure crucial to training VA medical personnel and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain secure LAN environments, multi-server systems, and IP address schemes.
- Oversee interconnections, troubleshoot network hardware/software, and support security systems.
- Ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 3, VA policies, and industry security standards.
- Collaborate on project plans, migrations, and the introduction of new remote sites.
- Document network configurations and maintain IP spaces for ICS devices across VA facilities.
- Support hardware/software for CCTV, access control systems, and building automation systems.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in IT infrastructure installation, with 10 years of Cisco expertise.
- Certifications: ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional and FCIC/NCIC limited access certification.
- Skills: Proficiency in Pelco and AMAG systems, Cisco Virtual Routing and Forwarding, VLANs, and wireless systems.
- Clearance: Ability to meet favorable Tier II clearance requirements.
Work Environment and Hours: This position operates Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with occasional weekend and holiday work planned in advance. Physical and cognitive requirements include desk/computer work, vision abilities for close tasks, and a capacity to learn, focus, and adapt independently.
