Proactively monitor the daily health and performance of the wide-area network (WAN), verifying the availability and integrity of all routers, switches, wireless controllers, IP telephony, and associated power/conditioning equipment
Thoroughly review network and telephony system logs, ensuring all scheduled jobs and tasks are completed successfully
Provide on-site supervision and detailed status reporting to the project management team
Perform scheduled backups of configuration data for all network devices, verifying backups are securely stored both on-site and off-site
Conduct regular recovery tests to validate the reliability of backup procedures, as well as monthly active/standby failover drills to ensure high availability
Coordinate with vendors to manage any hardware failure incidents, including the replacement of faulty components
Upgrade network operating system (IOS) software periodically to maintain currency and security
Generate and present performance reports to management on a regular cadence
Oversee the maintenance of data center environmental monitoring and control equipment
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
