Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Plan and lead the technical delivery of programmes of work, such as hydrodynamic simulations/experiments of ships and submarines in support of design and operation
\n
• Breakdown complex tasks and then execute the planned schedule of work. Work with project managers to track progress, assign tasks and supervise the technical delivery team
\n
• Participate in business development activities through engagement with customers and provision of technical delivery plans and resource requirements to the bidding team
\n
• Act as a peer or independent reviewer for other projects or programmes of work, where suitable
\n
• Deliver technical presentations in external forums, such as conferences and customer meetings. Work with other parties to expand and improve the work that the client delivers
\n
• Mentor other team members to improve their knowledge of your areas of expertise
\n

Required Skills:

\n

\n
• You will need an excellent understanding of engineering, equivalent to someone who has completed a BEng/MEng in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering
\n
• Excellent understanding of marine hydrodynamics and sound engineering judgement
\n
• Significant previous experience of delivering projects as a technical lead
\n
• Knowledge of data analysis, including experience of programming (e.g. Matlab) is desirable
\n
• Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) is desirable
\n
